IMPROV FOR KIDS - Ages 7-11 Come joing the always fun Joey Johnson and learn the basics of Improv and play games and have a great time in this collaborative group class for kids! Joey is a great improviser and a fun fun guy! Kids will learn improv basics and some great games they can play anytime anywhere! Improv also teaches valuable life skills that help kids become more confident communicators, better collaborators, and it also helps them access their sense of humor and play!

Music Studio: Vocal Artistry or Songwriting for TEEN/ADULTS

In conjunction with Carrie Marshall Music Studios, spring sessions is a 6 week vocal artist intensive is for all ages and include the beginner and experienced singer, alike. The 10 week intensive includes:

4 one on one private sessions (50 minutes each)

2 group classes (on Fridays from 5-7 p.m.) Classes will be grouped according to performance experience and participation availability.

In private sessions, Carrie specializes in helping clients find their artistic voice and freedom with singing and artistry. From troubleshooting issues surrounding technique and vocal control, to the mental and behavioral challenges that can plague performers (performance anxiety, overthinking, confidence and stage presence, etc.) Carrie comes alongside each student to customize a vocal regimen that is applicable for them specifically, addressing their issues and concerns. 

 Group vocal sessions gives each student a chance to practice performing, whether it’s  getting comfortable singing in front of others or workshopping a song before an audition or performance. Group sessions are a wonderful way to collaborate, gain confidence and meet other vocal artists!

 

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 1 payment of $210.00, paid monthly. Final payment of $215.00.

Music Studio: Vocal or Songwriting Artistry For KIDS

In conjunction with Carrie Marshall Music Studio, this spring 6 week songwriting/artist intensive is for beginning singers and those who want to grow their skills. No experience necessary! Intensive includes:

- 4 one on one private sessions! (30 minutes each)

- 2 group classes (on Fridays 5 p.m.)

 Focus for this Artistry Track will be learning the fundamentals of good singing (breathing, posture, head voice/chest voice, tone and melody) as well as finding great new songs to build repetoire and confidence as a singer and vocal performer!  

In private sessions, Carrie will come alongside to format a specific program tailored to each writer’s strengths and areas in need of improvement.  In group songwriting sessions, we will get comfortable singing for others and connecting as a performer to the audience! 

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 1 payment of $140.00, paid monthly. Final payment of $100.00.

Comedy Writing

 A comedy writing class on all things comedy related. From writing sketches, to stand-up comedy  Learn how to write different styles of jokes for stand-up, from topical jokes, act outs, to premise jokes based around a simple truth or funny idea. Learn to write an assortment of sketches from character based sketches, parodies, to desk bits. You will learn how to film and create a production schedule for sketch release. So you can stay ahead. This is a fun class to get your feet wet in the world of comedy. . 

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $87.50, paid every four weeks.

Learning Fundamentals of Short Form and Long Form Improv. Breaking down the importance of warm ups, scene work, teamwork, skill building exercises, games, and forms. This class is heavily built around the philosophy of having fun while consistently applying what we learn. There is no failing when you see it through. There will be one or two showcases before the semester is over.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $58.33, paid weekly. Final payment of $58.34.

Munchkin Acting

This crazy scene study class will have the kids doing some great kids scenes and also most will work on a monologue. We will have fun playing games and doing small scenes. They will learn some text skills and dialogue skills while having fun and being engaged! This class is also good for young actors interested in both stage and TV/FILM. Most importantly the kids will learn from Lucy, a wonderful instructor who will create a friendly, safe, and fun learning environment. $50.00 Non-refundable deposit.

Tween Acting Fundamentals

This class is designed to give young actors a foundational knowledge of acting principles and practice working with comedic and dramatic texts. In an open and comfortable learning environment, students will explore ways to find the fun story of a scene. Class will use games and exercises to help build the reality of the world, create a character’s perspective and motivation, and explore the arc of their relationships. Students will study acting fundamentals including blocking, story arc, character development and also the exploration of audition technique and acting for stage and film. We will learn that there’s no way to do it right, there is the personal way of each actor. and that all the play we explore in class fits right into the world of an audition! The goal of this class is to encourage new and returning actors to go into their Showcase, classes and beyond with a firm, confident foundation under their feet and a hunger to learn and play more. A $50 deposit is required to hold a space in the class.
