Tween Acting Intermediate/Advanced

This class is designed to give young actors a foundational knowledge of acting principles and practice working with comedic and dramatic texts. In an open and comfortable learning environment, students will explore ways to find the fun story of a scene. Class will use games and exercises to help build the reality of the world, create a character’s perspective and motivation, and explore the arc of their relationships. Students will study acting fundamentals including blocking, story arc, character development and also the exploration of audition technique and acting for stage and film. We will learn that there’s no way to do it right, there is the personal way of each actor. and that all the play we explore in class fits right into the world of an audition! The goal of this class is to encourage new and returning actors to go into their Showcase, classes and beyond with a firm, confident foundation under their feet and a hunger to learn and play more. A $50 deposit is required to hold a space in the class.

Kids Acting for Film & Stage
with Rachel Kanakanui
Ages: 7 - 10
This fun and welcoming scene study class is great training for the beginner and experienced young actor. The kids will work on scenes and monologues that are FOR KIDS. We will have fun playing games and doing fun scenes. They will learn some text skills and dialogue skills while having fun and being engaged! This class is also good for young actors interested in both stage and TV/FILM. Rachel is a great instructor who will grow their confidence and skills at the same time.
Teen Beginning Acting for Film & Stage
with Rachel Kanakanui
This class is for teenagers with a desire to learn about acting, script analysis, character, and world building through the exploration of scenes and monologues. In a comfortable and fun learning environment we will focus on the the personalization of scenes and relationships to scene partners. Students will learn the basics of acting and performance, and key tools including objective, obstacle, actions, and physicality, while encouraging their inner confidence and playfulness. It is the goal to have every student give themselves permission to learn to reach the heights of their imagination and begin the journey to becoming a great actor or a performer for fun. Will also be very confidence building with a cool instructor who is also a talented and highly trained actress. $50.00 non-refundable deposit to hold a spot.
Adult Acting Advanced
with Estes Tarver
This will be a scene study class for the advanced actor. Actors must either have the recommendation of the instructor from the intermiediate level class, or have had sufficient training to be admitted. Class will focus on scene study, building an unbreakable sense of truth, and general fine tuning of acting technique. Students will work on performance and character development incorporating the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner and Stanislavsky. Script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be vital to developing your scenes and monologues. This will be a fun, safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.
Adult Acting Intermediate

This will be a scene study class for the intermediate actor. Actors must either have at least one year of scene study in Fundamentals, or have the recommendation of the fundamentals instructor, or have had sufficient previous training to be admitted. Class will focus on taking the principals from fundamentals and apply them to help the actor take bigger personal risks and make stronger choices. This will be done primarily through scene study. Actors will continue to work on building a strong sense of truth, acting technique. Students will work on the fundamentals of performance and character development incorporating the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner and Constantine Stanislavsky. Script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be incorporated to help develop your scenes and monologues. This will be a fun, safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.
Adult Acting Fundamentals For Film and Stage

This will be an introductory class for the new or beginning actor focusing on the basics of acting, scene study, performance technique, working in a collaborative setting, and the techniques of Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky, and Sanford Meisner. Students will also focus on building their sense of play in a group setting and a safe environment. The beginnings of script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be achieved. Commercial work will also be addressed as well as on camera technique. This will be a fun and safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests. $50.00 Non-refundable deposit to hold a spot.
Adult Long Form Improv Level 1

What do the writers of most of your favorite comedies and late night shows have in common? The majority of them are trained improvisers. If you want to build your confidence, learn to create characters and environment, and quicken your wit, then long form improv is for you. In this 8 week course we will learn several structures for long form improv. We will break down what makes a scene work, as well as what keeps a scene from being successful. You will be challenged to create unique characters, to trust your instincts and to support your classmates. Improv training, can benefit you creatively as well as professionally. If your work requires networking or public speaking, then improv will sharpen those skills and build your confidence. All skill and experience levels are welcome. Our 8 week session will culminate in a showcase for friends and family and possibly in one of our Moonlight Improv Show nights! This class will meet 8 weeks with no class on the one of the weeks TBD
Adult Long Form Improv Level 2

This class will meet 8 weeks with no class on a week TBD. Prerequisite: Level 1 Improv class or previous Improv experience.
