Adult Acting Fundamentals For Film and Stage (MONDAY SECTION)

This will be an introductory class for the new or beginning actor focusing on the basics of acting, scene study, performance technique, working in a collaborative setting, and the techniques of Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky, and Sanford Meisner. Students will also focus on building their sense of play in a group setting and a safe environment. The beginnings of script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be achieved. Commercial work will also be addressed as well as on camera technique. This will be a fun and safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests. $50.00 Non-refundable deposit to hold a spot.

Professional Actor Study Adult
with Estes Tarver

This class is designed for actors who have either already had serious training, are working professionally already, have a theatre degree, or have studied with Estes previously and have been admitted. It is for Actors seeking to work professionally in Film, Television, and Theatre or to work at that level. Class will focus on scene study, building an unbreakable sense of truth, and general fine tuning of acting technique. This class will also be a good place for working actors to work their chops. We will also touch on Dialects, and any requested work by the students. $50.00 Non-refundable deposit to reserve a spot. Adult Acting Advanced
with Estes Tarver

This will be a scene study class for the advanced actor. Actors must either have the recommendation of the instructor from the intermiediate level class, or have had sufficient training to be admitted. Class will focus on scene study, building an unbreakable sense of truth, and general fine tuning of acting technique. Students will work on performance and character development incorporating the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner and Stanislavsky. Script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be vital to developing your scenes and monologues. This will be a fun, safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.

Moonlight One Act Play Class

This AWESOME NEW STYLE OF class is for students who have had some scene study and are looking to perform live. We will be fully producing One Act Plays and putting them up for a ticketed show at Moonlight! Two live performances will be held at Moonlight’s black box theater at the end of class. Class will operate like rehearsal for a play. The teacher will mainly function as a director/producer and sometimes teacher. Students will be cast in their one acts and be reahearsing the part all summer in class and then a fully produced show will be put up at the Moonlight Black Box in August! Students must have had some form of Scene Study preferrably at Moonlight to participate in Class. If you have had scene study elsewhere and want to make sure it's a good fit you can also email us. If you have taken Fundamentals and or Intermediate level classes at Moonlight we think this would be a good fit! Adult Acting Intermediate

This will be a scene study class for the intermediate actor. Actors must either have at least one year of scene study in Fundamentals, or have the recommendation of the fundamentals instructor, or have had sufficient previous training to be admitted. Class will focus on taking the principals from fundamentals and apply them to help the actor take bigger personal risks and make stronger choices. This will be done primarily through scene study. Actors will continue to work on building a strong sense of truth, acting technique. Students will work on the fundamentals of performance and character development incorporating the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner and Constantine Stanislavsky. Script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be incorporated to help develop your scenes and monologues. This will be a fun, safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.
Short Film Production Class for Actors and Directors 16+

This is an 8 week class is a class in Film Production and Filmmaking that is good for actors looking to create demo reel, directors looking to learn to direct, and filmmakers looking to learn to make film/edit etc. Class will meet to write and build material to shoot. Discuss how to shoot. And then independant groups (crews and actors) will shoot on their own to bring back to class and build the edit. We will make shorts and screen them at a showcase at the end. Moonlight will provide equipment to help shoot. And if students have equipment they want to use that will be used also. Will be a great learning experience in what it takes to produce film.

Intro to Longform Improv for Adults
with Megan O'Neill

Join Megan for a three hour intro to the basics of longform improv comedy workshop. No previous experience necessary. We will work with games to help build skills to trust your instincts and fight hesitation before we move into learning the basics of scene work. This session is a great foundation for anyone interested in taking a multi-session improv class.
