A weekly, welcoming online meet up of songwriters to share songs, ideas, inspiration and get feedback from peers in an artistically safe environment. This class is ongoing. The last week of the month we also meet in-person (and will still Zoom in those who can't make it in to Moonlight!).  Each session will also have an instruction/discussions on various songwriting topics culled from the group as well as writer prompts and fun songwriting challenges. Come share your music with us! All ability levels welcome, lyricists, musicians, etc.  Come get inspired!

Learning Fundamentals of Short Form and Long Form Improv. Breaking down the importance of warm ups, scene work, teamwork, skill building exercises, games, and forms. This class is heavily built around the philosophy of having fun while consistently applying what we learn. There is no failing when you see it through. There will be one or two showcases before the semester is over.

This will be an introductory class for the new or beginning actor focusing on the basics of acting, scene study, performance technique, working in a collaborative setting, and the techniques of Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky, and Sanford Meisner. Students will also focus on building their sense of play in a group setting and a safe environment. The beginnings of script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be achieved. Commercial work will also be addressed as well as on camera technique. This will be a fun and safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 3 payments of $100.00, paid every two weeks.

ONLINE ZOOM - Improv For Kids

In this online adventure, kids will learn (or brush up on) the basics of improv - "Yes And..", the art of the "button", and finding the funny without trying to be funny. Whether for a performance or just for fun, these skills will teach students to confidently speak, use their minds in unique and interesting ways, and not be afraid to have a little fun (or a lot of fun!). Beginners and experienced improvisors are welcome! We will focus mostly on short form games, creating interesting characters on the spot, and learning/perfecting the "rules" of improv (and when it's ok to "break" them!). Come join us in our "no pressure" zone where you're free to be you, no matter who you are today!

Tween Scene Study Advanced

Through exercises, games, improvisation, scene and on-camera work, students will continue to develop the foundations of good acting. Students study fundamentals including blocking, story arc, character development and sensory awareness with an exploration of audition technique and acting for stage versus film. This class will review and build on the fundamentals taught in Acting I/II and prepare students for more advanced acting classes. Students have opportunities, through creative play and group work, to perform for each other and for guests.

Comedy Writing Stand Up/Sketch

A writing class that will focus on writing topical and personal comedic material. Comedy writing focused on sketch comedy and stand-up. Learn how to write different styles of jokes from topical jokes, act outs, play on words, to jokes based on life experiences. The sketch writing will focus on writing comedy monologues, as seen on late-night shows, to different types of sketches, from commercials to character-based sketches.

Adult Acting Intermediate / Advanced

Calendar Sep 14, 2021 at 6 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This will be a scene study class for the intermediate to advanced actor. Actors must either have at least one year of scene study, the recommendation of the  instructor, or have had previous training. Class will focus on scene study, building an unbreakable sense of truth, and general fine tuning of acting technique. Students will work on the fundamentals of performance and character development incorporating the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner and Constantine Stanislavsky. Script analysis, sense of truth, and personalization will also be vital to developing your scenes and monologues. This will be a fun, safe learning environment culminating in a class showcase at the end for invited guests.

The Art of Dramatic Writing 16+

Want to write?  Got a screenplay idea or the beginning of a play stuffed in a drawer?  What about a comic sketch rolling around in your head?  Come learn the basics of drama and take your creative impulse to finished script.  The Art of Dramatic Writing will be fun and informative - all you need to bring is your imagination!  We’ll write, read scripts, write, discuss drama, and write.  Whether you love movies or theater or TV, if writing is something you want to do, come get kickstarted with this class.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $66.66, paid every two weeks. Final payment of $66.68.
